Houston Rockets Invite Lizzo to Dance With Them

The latest from her Lakers Jumbotron fallout

December 12, 2019

The “Juice” was loose last weekend, as Lizzo was shown dancing to her song and sporting a black thong on the jumbotron at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

A quick cut away from the singer caused an online storm, sparked a debate, and has now prompted at least one invitation.

“Your criticism has no effect on me, negative criticism has no stake in my life, no control over my life, over my emotions,” the GRAMMY-nominated artist shared on Instagram after social media comments began to stack up. “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m surrounded by love and I just want to spread that love — and also spread these cheeks.”

Now, the Houston Rockets have swooped in to extend an offer to the “Truth Hurts” singer. In a tweet on Wednesday the team told Lizzo that they love her moves and invited her to come dance with the team’s dancers anytime. Lizzo spent over 10 years living in Houston, relocating there with her family at the age of 10.

“I’ll be there with bells on my booty,” she quickly responded.

The Rockets are not the only NBA team looking to get in on the Lizzo action. The Minnesota Timberwolves also staked their claim to the “Good As Hell” star insisting she’s a Wolves fan. The singer moved to Minneapolis in 2011.

Lizzo is nominated for 8 GRAMMY Awards, including Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year.
